She felt him before she saw him
She opened her eyes with a gasp.
Her bedsheets were twisted around her legs. Her heart was beating fast.
She had been dreaming.
In her dream, a man came from behind and wrapped his arms around her. He kissed her neck. She felt warm. She felt safe. She smiled in her sleep.
But it was just a dream.
Or was it. clock on her nightstand said 12:00.
Shadows filled her room. Moonlight came through the window. She was wearing her silky blue nighty.
She felt cold.
She got up and walked to the window to close it.
Then she saw something strange.
A black shadow was standing in the hallway outside her door.
It didn't move.
It just stood there. Watching her.
Her heart stopped.she was terrified but still wanted to see as if she desire it. Who is there?
She couldn't look away. Fear and curiosity fought inside her. Fear said run.
She stepped into the hallway.
The wooden floor creaked under her feet.
The shadow stayed still. Waiting. The Hand
She was just a few feet away from the shadow.
Her eyes tried to see who it was. A man. Tall. Broad shoulders. Hidden in darkness.
She opened her mouth to speak.
Suddenly, a hand grabbed her from behind.
It covered her mouth. She couldn't scream. She couldn't move. Her eyes went wide with fear.
She felt his chest against her back. His warmth through her thin nighty. His breath near her ear
Then he whispered.
His voice was low. Rough. Scary.
"Little kitty… miss you."
Her whole body shook.
She knew that voice. From somewhere. From someone she had tried to forget.
She tried to turn around. She tried to see his face.
But before she could—
He was gone.
Alone… Or Not?
She ran back into her room.
She slammed the door. Locked it. Pressed her back against the wood.
She listened.
Nothing
No footsteps. No breathing. No sound.
She was alone in her room. The hallway was empty.
But she knew the truth.
He was still there. Somewhere. Watching.
Her hands were cold. Her heart was still racing.
But deep inside, something else was there too.
A question she was too scared to answer.
Why did his touch feel familiar?
And worse…
Why did a part of me want him to stay?
